oil painting
This oil painting is one I started a while back but was put aside during the holidays to work on commissions. The guitar player is from a member on the Red Bubble site who belongs to a group called Bubbler Portraits. Members of this group post photos of themselves for other members to paint and then post challenges. I added the labrador retriever because I am a dog person. This is actually a cropped scan of the painting-the actual painting shows more background which is deep dark woods. The photo was probably taken with late day light which made the woods in very dark. I am not happy with this scan or the photo I took of it so I will have to photograph it again. I will post this on Red Bubble when the challenge comes up.

I think the addition of the Lab makes this piece superior. What a touching portrait!
I like the close cropping. Really shows the interaction between the dog and guitar player. Nice contrasts too.
Regardless of the quality of your scan, this is a beautiful piece of work and the interaction between dog, boy and guitar(music) says it all.
This has to be one of my favorites so far Charlotte. Keeping the background quiet adds to the intimate moment. I could look at this for hours.
Charlotte this is just adorable. All of your puppie paintings are just beautiful. I love seeing each of them. This just adds so much of a story with the addition of the puppy. Such a wonderful piece.
