Pearls and Clam shell with landscape watercolor by Linda Young

"The Jolly Clam" by Linda Young
6" x 8"
Watercolor on 140# Arches CP

This is December's painting challenge for the PADT (paint and draw together) blog hosted by Lela Stankovic.  She provides the photo, we artists accept (or deny) the challenge.  Because of the complexity of this challenge she gave us a month to get it done.  When I was nearing the end of this painting, the pearls were the last things to get detailed.  However, prior to that part they were very white and looked like they were laughing!  From the time I saw those toothy pearly whites I knew I'd be naming this "The Jolly Clam".

Great painting. I admire everyone that takes part in the different challenges. Maybe in the new year I will try a few.
