Bull Elk
20" x 20"
Acrylic on canvas
This painting was done from a photo posted by Gary Keimig on his Wilderness Art Challenge blogspot. I took artistic liberty with the setting the elk is in...a little on the abstract side...maybe a little yin and yang with the representational and abstract? The atmosphere in this is so tangible - I can feel the cold of the air, and the warmth of the sun. Sensational, Pat.
I just can't say enough about your work. I was walking around in your studio at Gallerie 13 yesterday and quiet amazement. This Bull Elk is stunning!
Love the combination between real and abstract!
Very striking colors and the placement of the elk and especially his antlers in front of that dreamy blue sky is dramatic.
This is a stunning piece. Like all of your paintings, this one grabs your attention. Love your use of color.
I knew this couldn't be Plein air...
