After having recently posted one of my re-enactor pastels, I remembered this one. I sold it two years ago, but thought I'd share it here on the DPP blog.I spoke with this gentleman up by the Peace Light during an encampment on the Gettysburg National Military Park battlefield, and I was impressed by his passion. Just wanted to honor it in a portrait.

This is just fantastic Dianne. Bravo!!
I love how you captured his thoughtful expression!
Very well done, Dianne!
I also have a feeling that it is somewhat big.. What size it is and what pastels did you use?
It's not very big, Tatiana, and not a standard size. Maybe 17" wide. These pastels were hard, similar to NuPastel - but even harder. One of my not-very-expensive sets: no wrappers and the paperwork on the box is long gone, so I can't even identify them! How embarrassing!
Dianne, beautiful job. You were able to capture a lot of emotion in this piece.
Really quite nice. I love his gaze and also agree that it feels like a big piece.
I love his face, but I really love the shirt and his wonderful hand.
