"20th Maine Re-enactor" by Dianne Lorden

After having recently posted one of my re-enactor pastels, I remembered this one. I sold it two years ago, but thought I'd share it here on the DPP blog.
I spoke with this gentleman up by the Peace Light during an encampment on the Gettysburg National Military Park battlefield, and I was impressed by his passion. Just wanted to honor it in a portrait.

Very well done, Dianne!
I also have a feeling that it is somewhat big.. What size it is and what pastels did you use?

It's not very big, Tatiana, and not a standard size. Maybe 17" wide. These pastels were hard, similar to NuPastel - but even harder. One of my not-very-expensive sets: no wrappers and the paperwork on the box is long gone, so I can't even identify them! How embarrassing!

Dianne, beautiful job. You were able to capture a lot of emotion in this piece.

Really quite nice. I love his gaze and also agree that it feels like a big piece.

I love his face, but I really love the shirt and his wonderful hand.
