YELLOW BREECHES AT ALLENBERRY By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic on stretched canvas
8x10
A bright morning sun colored the Yellow Breeches creek a cadmium yellow and dappled the trees with light. The creek flowed slowly and peacefully through the Allenberry Playhouse grounds, past the leaves that were beginning to turn red. It was another perfect morning to paint outdoors-another enjoyable plein air session.
Later that morning some fishermen [ fly fishing perhaps] appeared in the creek. We all took photos of them. Hopefully I will be able to paint this tranquil scene in studio with at least one of the fishermen in the painting.

Cecelia, you always think of such nice things to write about in your posts. This painting just invites me to walk in and sit on that little bench. You saw some great colors in the trunk of the tree and painted it so well.

Wish I could have been there painting with you all last Thursday. This painting makes me want to be there sitting on that bench enjoying the sounds and sights of the creek. Beautiful!
