Quick Portrait Session, Maria Kovalenko Leysens

I went to a portrait session today and thought I would work in pastels.
I love the portrait sessions (Associated Artists of Butler County) because they are so casual, no pressure and a warm group. I was too busy to go lately, and forgot what a nice opportunity this is.
I could have used about 20 more minutes to work the shirt and tidy up a bit.
Actual work time was about 1 1/2 hour.

I love the loose treatment in the shirt. It fits the casualness of the opencolar and T-shirt underneath.

When I first saw the post, I thought of Harry Chapin. Don't know why...can't really remember what he looked like.

Pastels are one of my favorite to create a portrait and I like you loose application.

Harry Chapin... was that... 100,000 pounds of bananas!

This is fantastic, and I love the loose application of color. Wonderful!
