Soft Pastels on Wallis Paper
For my second daily painting I chose a photo from my landscape photo reference file of a pasture. I did not include the fence on the photo and I added a mare and her foal from another
reference photo. The sky was blue with no clouds but I added some fluffy ones for a more interesting painting. I completed this is 2-1/2 hours and I feel I over worked it a bit. I don't feel the baby horse is believable.

I like the peaceful mood you created in this piece.
I agree with Deb. A lovely mood and soft textures.
Oh Charlotte, The foal is quite believable. Having had several throughout my lifetime, this one looks like a filly I used to have. Lanky, lean and always hungry; ears twitching to hear every sound. Nice job
Charlotte, it really doesn't look overworked to me. I agree that the horses both look just right in there.
