"Hearts in Lancaster" by Dianne Lorden

Thought I'd share this one - I made it last fall and donated it to an auction to benefit the Adams County Arts Council. When you ride around in Amish country, there are so many gorgeous quilts to be seen flapping in the breeze! This one was displayed on a fabulous porch (of a gift shop), and I wanted to illustrate it. The title reflects the fact that there were many hearts among the decor: in wrought iron as well as on the quilt. Hopefully, amid the gourd crafting I'm busy with (feel free to check that out at http://www.shamanicart.webs.com/), I'll soon complete the two pastels I currently have on my drawing table! My work can be viewed at http://www.southmountainsketchbook.webs.com/

Dianne, this is a terrific painting, and is so wonderfully representative of the Lancaster area. Your color harmonies always work so nicely, especially here!
