ANDY SMITH, watercolor

I spent my day finishing two paintings that I
had started last week. They will be on display
this weekend at Chadds Ford Days.

" Pleasant Hill Morning" ~ 20"x 23" ~ watercolor

"On Display" ~ 18"x24" ~ watercolor

For me as an artist, it is all about the light!
I wish all my fellow DPP members a wonderful
reception tomorrow night. I am sorry to miss it
but I will be setting up at Chadds Ford.

I love the rich colors and the reflections, shadows and light. The chair is my favorite because it reminds me of my grandmothers from years ago; but love them both. Is that quinacridone gold I see?

Both paintings are wonderfully rich in color and value. I admire your capture of the light you see and building those deep dark shadows.

You have captured the light wonderfully. I especially love the warm reflective glow under the chair rail. We will miss you today at the reception, but your work looks great hanging and know you will be there in spirit. Best of luck with Chadds Ford.
