Day 41

I painted this yesterday morning in the
gardens of Two Mile House, which is an historical
property owned and carefully tended by
the Cumberland County Historical Society.
While we were there painting, we had the pleasure
of a visit from a red-tailed hawk, who sat in
a cherry tree and 'talked' to us before she
flew away. Quite a treat!

After all the years I've lived here, I've never gone inside of the gate at Two Mile House! I've been missing out!

Beautiful painting Claire. I love seeing your painting right above mine. They are so similar and yet so different. I love the looseness of your brushwork and the way you treated the stone wall.

Linda - you should check it out. It's a beautiful old house on five acres of property.
Julie - If we would have tried to post these side by side, it never would have happened! I think it's so neat to see two artist's view of the same spot.

Lovely painting. I also enjoy seeing multiple paintings of the same area.

Claire - I missed seeing and hearing the hawk. Your observation skills are what make you able to capture such a sensory filled painting.
