Completed and leaning for review, David Bottini, paintings 'for Gabriel'

I love when I feel ready to sign a new painting. This large canvas has been both a challenge and a pleasure - keeping me excited and engaged over the past few weeks. Particularly focused on stylizing the pattern and energy within the lower canopy of trees. My goal is to combine abstracted composition and the realistic palette and foliage.
I will move this piece from my studio into my living room - always nice to live with it for a few days - make sure it has all it requires to be a resolved painting.
Summer Morning Shimmer, 24 X 36", acrylic on canvas.

When I am out in nature I feel such a sense of spirituality, and an incredible bond with my Maker. Your paintings put me there, David. This transcends beauty.

I'm so impressed by your ability to make new and amazingly beautiful compositions out of trees and light. You clearly have a passion for the work as well as great patience and vision. Your paintings are like being there!

Thanks, Claire. It is the only time I feel "connected" - out in the woods - solo, quiet, focused - really appreciate that you feel the meditative viewpoint.

Diane - your kindness and insight is appreciated - I do have a great passion for painting and for the experience of losing oneself within nature.

Look forward to meeting you both (and the many artists I have not met who contribute to this blog)

I really like abstract, non-representational art but have never been able to create a good painting in that style--I finally realized that I am truly connected to the representational--but still sometimes try to combine both styles--I see your painting above more as a linear abstract composition than a forest scene, with a beautiful muted blue, green background--and a shallow disappearing depth-very original and thought-provoking

Thanks, Cecelia.
I am attracted to the quiet and light within a forest and the effect that light, shadow and reflection has in transforming and altering the sense of traditional 3-D graphic illusion - a person's experience is transformed by mood, mindset and moment.

Might have this piece at 2nd Floor for Gallery Saturday prior to closing my studio there - would enjoy your seeing the piece in-person.

IF IT WILL BE THERE, SO WILL I.
