"From Above" by Tatiana Myers 12 x 12".
Pastel on Ampersand Museum Pastelboard.
I worked on this painting off and on during last two weeks. One more landscape of that very same Cove Creek with all it's mysteries. I used combination of watermedia and charcoal underpainting, mixed soft pastels and pencils and alcohol wash to finish this work. it was not the easiest one to paint and I think I have to do it better... next time, when I will try something similar. This will be my newest addition to my 12 x 12" landscape series (one of my favorite formats).

Tatiana, this makes me want to take a nap in your sunlight. Very peaceful.
Oooh, it's beautiful! The light effect is wonderfully rendered. Looks like a very special place.
Tatiana, I would love to see this place some day - your painting is magnificet!
I am amazed by your rendering of the light beams- especially since they are done in pastel. I would think that particularly difficult. The whole composition is great!
Thank You!
This work will be displayed in "2-nd Floor Gallery" during month of August, while I will be futured artist on the first floor. (Sounds confusing, does it? But Second Floor Gallery is actually located in two levels! For most of you, of course it is well known fact.)
Speaking of place... I already has offered to take our Plein Air group there sometime.
Rubber boots and bug spray are the must and then we are good to go!
Striking and stirring-
Can't wait to see this at your exhibit, Tatiana. Nicely done!!!
Thank You, Cecelia and Pat!
As for "can not wait" part, it is one more week and show will be up!
Tatiana - great work on this! The sunbeams are mesmerizing. And I love the title also. You've captured the reflections and the brilliant light masterfully. One of your best!
Thank you, Lyn!
One of the biggest challenges I had with this work - my original reference wasn't so great to start from. This is camera thing - shooting against of light, in foggy conditions...Everything is turning flat and minimum colors are present. Pretty, but not much to paint.
I spent a good deal to tuning reference up with Photoshop to make it look like eye, not camera see the scene... Or even more like my heart does see it.
When I'm happy with what I did on computer I stating work on board. With landscapes I never do exact copy, I just try to keep the same idea and same attitude what i captured in my photo-project.
I think I mostly did it this time, but also - I still see a lot of room for improvement.
the light that cometh from above is peacable, easily entreated......
Very nice! Love the light! Beautiful!
Simply awesome Tatiana! I love it!
Bertie, Debra, Mary beth, thank You to all of your ladies for your kind support.
Hope to see all of you next month on show reception!
