"Are We Done Yet?" - Watercolor by Kathy Michels

I recently finished this 38" x 16" watercolor painting of these little ballerinas. I have always loved watching all the different forms of dance. The movement and stories the dancers tell are wonderful. When I started painting I couldn't help but wonder how amazing all the costumes would look in watercolor. I did a photo shoot with a class full of four year old ballerinas. Oh my, what fun. They were just so adorable and such a joy to watch. This painting portrays the end of the photo session. You see the question in their eyes "Are we done yet?".

Hi, Kathy!

You may remember or not, but we met with you sometime this spring. You were working on your drawing for this very picture and I did a small portrait of my niece...

Anyway - your painting turned out fantastic! I always slightly envy to those brave people who can work so big with no fear... Especially with watercolors!
Love your works, hope to see more! Welcome to DPP!
