Wildwood Lake, oil, Lyn O'Neal

Wildwood Lake
oil
9 x 12 inches
Last week we painted at the Wildwood Wetlands Sanctuary. I only had about two hours so I painted this simple little scene. I was drawn by the layers. There was a little egret standing at the water's edge which I think I'll paint in. The photo image of this painting has distorted the colors somewhat. I still haven't quite figured out my digital camera.

I love horizontal compositions and love that you picked out and painted in all those horizontal layers.

You have created such a lovely sense of atmposphere and depth in this, Lyn - something you do quite well!

Thanks everyone -- it's coming up darker than the original - I don't know if it's the camera or the computer.
