Rhythm & Blues Series ( With Apples, Bowls, Bottles) by Bertie Brown

Rhythm & Blues

image: 21"w x 27"h

“Rhapsody in Blue”

Was our music today

Sophie and I thrilled

To the opening way

That the clarinet soared

Through that octave and more...

We set up a still life

With lots of great blues

We have so much fabric

It’s hard just to choose

Then added some apples

Three bottles, two bowls

On top of the fabric

With plenty of folds

We hummed to the tunes

While painting till noon

Sophie, my rhapsody

In tap dancin’ shoes

Gerschwin and Orchestra

Playin’ his blues!

When I looked at the close up of this painting, I was amazed at the details on the tablecloth. Excellent work! But I couldn't find a tuba or snare drum anywhere on the table!

I also liked the images you have outside the window.

Beautiful painting Bertie. I love the color glazing. The bright light from the window is great.

Thom, I think the Tuba is to the extreme left of the bottles......he just didn't make it onto my paper this time......
