Radish Recital by Bertie Brown

Radish Recital

13 1/2"w x 10 3/4"h

Radish Recital

Sophie said, Let’s use our new paints today

Carmine and Windsor blue

Areolin too

What could we paint

With our trio so quaint

Radishes, I think, would work out just great

Wet applications

Give us saturations

Int’resting patterns

With water and spatters

Red, blue and yellow

Make fine pallet-fellows

Radishes Blush

Their round cheeks red and lush

And the foliage

Green and gold-ish

Finish off the work

The radishes vital

A rich red recital

Is now on display

Today!

Radish Recital is a perfect name for this painting. It reminds me of graceful ballerinas before the big performance.

One of my favorites of yours, Bertie! Love the composition and the way the radishes dance across the canvas.
