Patriotic Cat ~ Debi Watson, watercolor

17" x 11" Original Watercolor
Available on eBay ~ click here to view

This proud cat was watching a sunny summer morning go by in Annapolis, MD last summer. He is part of my Fast and Furious series of watercolor demonstrations. This showed how to make white objects look three dimensional and how to create loose flowers, like on the left, versus hard edged flowers, on the right. Add a touch of yellow, and you can feel the sunshine!

I love scenes that show everyday life in America. Great composition.

This could be any patriotic household cat in America! When I first saw this, I thought it was from Boiling Springs, PA where I often see a cat much like this one sunning itself in the window!

Thanks, everyone. I like cats, as a subject and as critics....
