LILAC MEMORIES
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Lilac Memories'
Oil 8 X 8

I always love when the lilacs bloom in April
because of the wonderful perfume they send
into the air. These are some of my own lilacs
that I have carried with me every time we have
moved. They include some stock from my
mother-in-law and also from a neighbor
who became my surrogate grandmother.
The vase is a cranberry opalescent hobnail vase
that belonged to my grandmother.

If you would like to see more of my work ,
please check out my website or my blog.
Thank you!

Love the way you blend the detailed fowers and the impressionistic areas together on the painting.

It's darn prudy too!

Claire I just love this painting. Lilacs are the first flowers my husband gave me when we were dating. Very special flower to us both. I love the fact that you put them in your grandmothers vase(extra special and pretty). Just stunning!

Purple is my favorite color. This painting is dreamy. The vase looks like a Fenton Hobnail? I love the way you handled the vase. Excellent detail on the flowers...you captured the essence of the lilac!
