John C. Rudy County Park, oil, 8 x 10, Lyn O'Neal

This plein air study was painted at John C. Rudy County Park in York, PA on a hot summer morning. A haze in the distance and a smorgasborg of greens both warm and cool was the interest for me in this piece. I'll never forget the extreme heat that day and I finished quickly to find a place to cool off.

The foreground greens look so inviting and lush......"He maketh me to lie down in green pastures"......Oh to be there with a picnic basket full of goodies, a blanket and a good book!

Lyn, you have captured the atmosphere of the heat and humidity of a Summer morning so perfectly in this painting.
Very well done!

Some of those parks in York County have such altitude, they seem to touch the sun in summer. You really did well with all those greens. Great painting.

Never a fan of extreme heat, but I must say that I found myself wanting to walk barefoot through this lush green grass. Beautiful trees, a beautiful park, and a most beautiful painting. Well done, Lyn!
