"California Brigade Monument" by Lyn O'Neal, oil

Another scene from the Gettysburg Battlefield. The stonework on this monument intrigued me as did it's placement overlooking the fields and protected by the low hanging branches of this tree. It's almost like the tree is saying, "There, There."

Beautiful painting Lyn. Hopefully soon I will have some information about this year's Gettysburg Festival events.

Thanks Mary Beth. The Gettysburg Paint Out is one of my favorite events of the year. Can't wait for this year.

Hi Lyn, This is a lovely, peaceful painting. My husband works as a tractor operator on the battlefield during the summer months. He is retired but loves his seasonal part-time job.

Lyn, you have such an innate color sense that just shines through your work. This is lovely.

So beautiful...There is something about historical markers, especially when they look as beautiful and timeless and timeworn as this one does, that have me envisioning the event that is marked. Such a dichotomy of peace and war in this scene. Just beautiful, Lyn.

This is such a peaceful looking scene. The monument is there to remind us of past, less peaceful times. Great painting.
