This is the painting I almost completed at the Thursday night demo I did in front of a local arts group, Hill Country Artists. The garden is a rather bright corner of my studio garden here in Susquehanna County. The daylight was fading, but lingering on this scene. It is 11 x 14 toned Wallis paper and I used a mixture of soft pastels. The final touches in the studio pulled it together, I think. What do you think?

Happy Garden by Rodrica Tilley

Hello from Susquehanna County...
... and thanks for inviting me to join other Pennsylvania painters in exhibiting here. I work primarily in soft pastel (occasionally watercolor). Over half my work is done out of doors. Snowy Woods is a studio painting (20 x 20in) and it was sold on Saturday, the day we got 2 inches of snow and it stuck. The world outside my studio is still white today, which makes for nice clean light inside. I am in the process of plein air painting in all fifty states.
