I've recently resurrected this painting from a closet; and I'm pretty sure I posted it before. I decided to add the leaves that were in the photo I took, freshen up the color and values, and  place it in a 3" textured gold frame. Tomorrow I will bring it to the CALC art gallery-a much better place than my closet.

A group of us took advantage of this beautiful, sunny, pleasant day and painted or sketched at Messiah College. Years ago, covered bridges, as subject matter for paintings, were thought of as "corny" and overdone. Maybe they still are, but their presence, situated in serene settings are so peaceful and comforting--the reason they still appeal to me and so many people.

An iffy day, weatherwise, turned into a very special paintout at Tisha Sheldon's home in Wrightsville. Rain interrupted our painting, but we were ready for the lovely lunch of pasta salad and ambrosia, Tisha had prepared for us.  Then, just as we finished, the sun came out and we were able to resume painting.
