GULL TALK by Claire Beadon Carnell

'Gull Talk'
Oil 6 x 8

My husband and I were in Beaufort, North Carolina
over the fourth of July weekend to visit family, and
while we were there we took a water ferry over to
Shackleford Island. I spotted these gulls at the
edge of the water, and it looked like they were
having a nice chat and totally enjoying the view.

"Abby at Nags Head" pastel by Dianne Lorden

Pastel, 12" x 16"
I've often used my daughter as a subject - especially when I'm practicing, poor thing! But this is my favorite painting of her. I made it three summers ago, when I was still pretty new to pastels, from a photo I'd taken during one of the quiet moments of her childhood.
