The DPP exhibit filled an entire row of panels at BWAC. The work was very well received and many contacts were made. I encourage the exhibiting artists to all share their stories here in the comments section.

I will come back to this post and fill in names etc. The show will be taken down this Saturday.

DAILY PAINTERS OF PA COMING TO BROOKLYN 2012

As one of the Daily Painters of Pennsylvania artists
 to exhibit in the
BWAC, Coming to Brooklyn 2012 Show...
I felt a need to share it with ALL the Daily Painters and the Followers of the BLOG.

The Artist's Reception for this Art Show was an experience that many artists long for. We got to share our art with a whole NEW World-NYC, so to say. Mary Beth said it best, "It's good sometimes being the little FISH in the BIG fishbowl." It's so true. Thanks for your leadership Mary Beth, and supporting your peer artists!
Also, not only did we get to meet New York artists, and supporters...It was GREAT meeting the DPP Group members, too! What a fine group of LADIES: Deb Kreiger, Dianne Lorden, Mary Beth Brath, Donna Berk Barlup, Patricia A. Griffin, Brownyn Hughes, Christine Marx and others! There was Jazz Music in the background by The Stefan Bauer Experience...What a unique ART VENUE!

The Daily Painters of Pennsylvania (DPP) was founded in the fall of 2009 by Mechanicsburg artist Mary Beth Brath. The DPP is an online blog group of professional visual artists that paint on a daily basis and reside in Pennsylvania. Members must be juried into the group and there is a monthly fee. Members are all gallery represented. Most have been published and have won awards for their work. Many have attained Signature Memberships in National and International Organizations. The group continues to grow and now has 48 members.

The website brings the human element to viewing original art online.  Artists discuss techniques, materials, announce awards, exhibits and share the stories behind the paintings.  A personal blog page can be difficult to maintain since first priority is “in the studio”.  In a group blog, everyone works together to keep the site fresh and exciting for viewers and followers. Since the site is so active, it remains high on the search engine and gives the artists a strong online presence. Curators, Gallerists and Collectors have a location to view the work and read about the accomplishments of the group.

Every June the group exhibits in the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building East Wing Rotunda. Visitors traveling from around the world stop to take pictures with the artwork.  The show is now anticipated by the state legislators, employees and general public.

Brath, the group’s founder, is a member of BWAC and exhibited with the Coalition during the “Black and White” exhibit in 2011. For more information, go to www.dailypaintersofpennsylvania.blogspot.com

Friends of the DPP also attended the BWAC Reception by Mary Beth Brath

Hilda Muxo (center) drove down from the Bronx with a friend to attend the reception.  Many of you know Hilda through the blog.  She has been following our blog for a long time and comments frequently.  What a thrill to meet her in person.  Thank you Hilda. This made the day so special.

Sister-in-Law Carolyn from New Jersey attended with her children.  Carolyn also checks the blog often to enjoy the artwork and has several of my paintings in her home.

Steven "Fritz" Weiss is a board member of BWAC from Staten Island.  Fritz and Jeff Van Boskirk (not shown in this photo) led the way for me to be able to show in NYC.  Fritz has also watched our DPP group and comments on the high quality of the DPP's work.

BWAC Reception Was A Dream Come True by Daily Painter of Pennsylvania Mary Beth Brath

I felt so at home in NYC.  The reception was on Saturday and it was filled with great experiences.  DPP member Christine Marx attended with her family. What a blessing. We are shown in this photo standing in front of Brownyn Hughes's "Tears of the World" exhibit that is benefitting the American Red Cross.

Thank you Christine and Family for sharing in the day!
