I love the sunny faces of sunflowers, and because
they are almost always grown in patches it seems as though
they have their own little community...one where everyone
knows everyone else...and everyone also knows everyone
else's business!
This painting was done with a limited palette of
Prussian Blue, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Lemon
Yellow and White. I also used an underpainting mixture
of Ultramarine Blue to block in the dark abstract shapes,
and I really like how bits of it peek through.

A real STUNNER, Claire!
I do like the abstract shapes along with the realistic sunflowers!
