Gold Beach, Normandy, France
An Original Oil Painting

Oil on stretched canvas

Some of the most memorable places I saw while in France
were the beaches of Normandy.  It reminded me so
much of the Civil War battlefields I have visited because
there was such a contrast of exquisite beauty with
the realization of the tragedy and heavy loss of life
that took place here during a war (World War II).

Both my father and my father-in-law were soldiers
in France during the war, and I painted this
in remembrance (and love) of them and all that they
did to preserve our freedoms.

This painting will be available at Brath and Hughes Fine Art, LLC - Gallery
in November/December of 2014 when I will
be having an exhibit of my French Series paintings there.

A wonderful sentiment and tribute to your father and father-in-law. This beautiful painting by their daughter is a testiment to their fight for our freedoms.

Can't wait to see this in person. The composition is well planned and my eye is lead around the canvas.
