Sunflowers - Day 6 of the 30 Day Challenge by Christine Marx

This little painting was done with all palette knife rather than brushes. It gives it great dimension in real life. The painting measures 6 x 6" unframed. Framed it is 12 x 12". I am finding the paint challenge more enjoyable than I had anticipated, and also more challenging than I had anticipated. I just might continue trying to finish one piece per day, in addition to the more laborious paintings that take weeks or months. It seems to be a good combination. The only thing that has suffered due to the extra workload has been housecleaning, but I can live with that!

The depth, texture and richness of tone are wonderful. They really look alive and like they might be trembling in a breeze! Very lovely.

I like this one a lot, Chris... NOT because it is about my beloved flowers, but something in-between good composition and very interesting brush-strokes makes it special. I think You have one very successful painting here.
