CHERRIES AND DEPRESSION GLASS
An Original Oil Painting

'Cherries and Depression Glass'

My obsession with dishes continues...and I thought this
green Depression Glass compote would make
a wonderful vessel for the red cherries.  This was so
much fun to paint, but once again very difficult to
photograph - think my using Liquin is also adding a shine
that is adding to the problem.  It's always a learning process...

All of my paintings for this Challenge will be done in a 6 x 6 format,
and my main goal while painting from life
is to LOOSEN UP and USE MORE PAINT...
something which will only benefit my work.

Capturing reflections in glass is so much fun and I am sure you had a blast doing this mini. This is one of my favorite of your 12 paintings and I can't wait to see what else you come up with

Love it! Green glass always catches my eye, and the red cheries and dark background just tie it all together beautifully.

The highlights in the green glass are wonderful and I also like the cool lavender on the front of the box.
