Light Switch by Nancy Herman



The days move relentlessly on.  Dogs need to go out, dishes done, beds made, meals prepared.  The house is quiet with the holiday over and the children gone...and then you round a corner and the sun picks out a strange pattern on the wall and you remember something important.

What I recalled at first glimpse of this piece was Mark Rothko's hazy edged paintings--interesting contrast of hard edges of the light switch and soft edges of the wall patterns.
