Rakestraw's Painting Coming To The Gallery In September by Larry Lerew

"Sweet Memories"
Acrylic
20" x 20" Stretched Canvas
All Rights Reserved Larry Lerew 2012

This painting is my impression of Rakestraw's Ice Cream, 313 S. Market Street, Mechanicsburg, PA as it looked during the early 1970's. I used to manage this store, dip ice cream, load trucks, stock the walk-in freezer and paint signs up in the tower. This painting is kicking off a new series of paintings I am working on to capture today's charming locations in and around Mechanicsburg. I will include both studio paintings and en plein air paintings and sketches created on-the-spot throughout town. This painting along with new original paintings will be available as they are created starting this September at Brath and Hughes Fine Art, LLC - Gallery , 41 West Main St., Mechanicsburg, PA. All paintings will be available for sale as they progress, so stop in and see the latest.

I love this one, Larry - esp the muted tones.

Very charming and nostalgic--I like Rakestraw's, but I can't stop thinking about 3B's
