IN THE HEAT OF SUMMER
Oil Painting
by Claire Beadon Carnell

'In the Heat of Summer'
Oil on Linen Panel
9 x 12

I love to drive and take a road that I am
not familiar with in the hopes that I will find an
interesting place to paint.  The day I found this
farm, it was blistering hot, and yet those daylilies
in the foreground fields kept blooming profusely!

The way you've painted the sky, the light on the barn, and even the somewhat "hazy" colors in the foreground just SCREAMS "heat and humidity" to me, Claire. Beautiful job!

I can just imagine wandering cross that field enjoying all those lovely flowers! Except for the heat :) Beautiful shadows on the barn.
