"Walking In The Spirit" by Deborah Nell

Watermedia on Yupo paper, 11" x 17"
I almost gave up on this painting. It seemed at first that no matter what I did, it wasn't working. I started wiping the paint off and got this image.

Your work has such an ethereal, mystical quality, Deb. This is lovely.

I marvel at how unified your background is, in color choices and movement, with your subject--in all your paintings--I often have trouble relating my backgrounds to my subject matter, especially in still life paintings.

I marvel at how beautifully you relate your bacgrounds, in color and "mood", to your subjects in all your paintings. I have some trouble doing the same, especially in my still life paintings.

Cecelia that might be because when I start, I don't know where my background begins or ends. It all starts as one piece in the beginning. Thank you for your compliment. I think your paintings are wonderful. You can do things I certainly cannot do.
