Seine Reflections, 8 x 10, oil by Ron Donoughe

Last year I finally got to Paris. While there I felt too overwhelmed to paint. I was recently asked to donate a painting to the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and The Alliance Française de Pittsburgh 5th Annual Bastille Day Celebration auction. So it was a good excuse to go through my photos and make this little sketch. And reflect upon the trip, thus the title.

This is a lovely composition, Ron. I have not been to Paris, but have enjoyed painting from my daughter's photographs taken there. I also really like vessels, so find this painting of yours quite appealing.

This is beautiful, Ron. I am going to France next year, and have been thinking I will try to paint, but I think the same thing will happen to me as happened to you - it's all going to be so amazing that I'll probably never lift a paintbrush!

Looking forward to your workshop in Wellsboro!

Awesome reflections Ron! I have never been to France, but it would be nice to cruise the Seine in that little green boat.
