More from the Plein Air Paint Out at the Gettysburg Festival!

It's taken me a while to get these posted but here are the results of my plein air painting efforst thus far with the Gettysburg Festival. Since plein air painting isn't my main focus, I feel very inadequate after viewing Larry Lerew's paintings. But I'm enjoying what I'm doing and it's always an adventure so that makes it all worthwhile. Unfortunately my crazy schedule has had me painting much earlier than most people have been getting started, at least on Sunday and Monday, so I've painted by myself ever since the kickoff day on Friday at the Peace Light.

The photo at the top was taken on Friday afternoon by Phyllis Netherland, co-coordinator of the Paint Out, and features our knowledgeable tour guide, Bob Prosperi, on the left. Bob took us to several sites on the Gettysburg battlefield, giving us the history of what occurred during the battle, in various places we would be painting. Larry Lerew is in the center, I'm just to his right and a third fellow DPP member, Madeleine Reilly, is on the far right. It's been great fun so far!

Amy,
Your watercolors are beautiful and full of color and atmosphere. We both are expressing our feelings with paint in our own way and you never should feel inadequate because art is not about that. Sorry I haven't seen you out painting but maybe we can gather again before Saturday. I also enjoyed the bus tour and was inspired to paint in several of the suggested spots.

Fantastic post Amy. I am just now scrolling through all of the posts from the festival. So good to see Bob Prosperi in the photo!
