"A Single Candle" by Michael LeKites

Finished!
I included this image with the frame because I really like how the gold frame contrasts so well with the painting.
Oil on canvas, 16x20.

I've updated this title to "A Single Candle." I think this fits best. I have had a bit of a struggle with naming this piece. Originally, it was the quote  "All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle."  by St. Francis of Assisi  that was the inspiration for this to begin with, but the quote was so long I didn't want to use it. My second choice was from John 1:5, but that wasn't fitting well either.  So, I've settled on "A Single Candle."

The light on her face, neck, shoulders and on her draped dress is perfection. If this goes into your exhibit, it will light up the whole space.

Thank you Mary Beth. I would like to bring some works down before the end of June. She is the daughter of a friend of mine.

I love this! I agree that the reflective light on her face & shoulders is wonderful. I like the stars above her head too. Well done!
