Occasionally I'm commissioned to paint a backyard. This painting
required several trips to determine the exact timing of
the sweet evening light. Notice BB the cat
in the shadows to the lower left. I did a 10x15 inch study before starting the final piece. It helped to sort out the light and shadow families and realize the window for actual painting time was only one hour!

Ron, this is beautiful! Makes me want to be right there.
Beautiful, Ron. The light is absolutely perfect.
Beatifully done, Ron! The colors -- as in all your work, really -- are so strong and luscious. And being a "cat person", I do like the addition of BB.
Wonderful colors and light.
Beautiful work Ron! I find it refreshing that someone would commission a painting of their back yard as opposed to the standard full frontal house portrait. Back yards have so much more character and seem to be more about the homeowner than the house itself.
I love the fading light on the house, and BB the cat! Your detail work is really beautiful Ron
I THINK IT IS UNUSUAL AND ADMIRABLE THAT A HOMEOWNER WOULD COMMISSION A PAINTING OF THEIR BACKYARD IN FADING LIGHT, INSTEAD OF WANTING COLORS ABLAZING.
Nicely done Ron. Yes the engineering of paintings sometimes takes the longest!
Very complex. This is a feast for the eyes.
