The Tree Line by Michael LeKites

I have more work to do on the hill but I'm about 80-90% there. Oil on canvas, 11x14.

I LOVE this composition. It's dynamic. I also like the way you've painted the trees.

You and I share a common love of diagonals, Michael - this is fantastic!

Thanks so much! Yes, it's always nice to have a little movement and direction going on. It can help a subject that might otherwise be a little boring.

Very beautiful work, Michael. One of you very best landscapes.

Ditto to all the above comments--strong diagonals and verticals--eye-catching contrast between the bright blue sky and softer terrain colors.

Thanks so much for the nice comments everyone! I know I still have much to learn but I feel like I'm finally working through some of the initial struggles I had with oils.
