Still Waters, pastel by Dianne Lorden

My, oh my! I've been away from posting for a bit as I've been consumed with a combination of wedding shower plans (my daughter's getting married this summer) and filling decorative rattle orders. So I see the blogger has updated posting; very nice! I've been fooling around with "loosening" my style in pastels, which was the reason I tried painting with them in the first place. This was a fun piece from a photo I took near my mom-in-law's Florida home. I tried to give it the mysterious, vintage treatment I kept seeing in my imagination. Didn't quite hit the mark, but I do like it. Sanded paper.
