I will further add, that loosening up is tough for me. In the past, when I worked with acrylics or watercolor, I would paint every little detail, sometimes every little blade of grass. Oils are still frustrating for me because of the drying time. I often want to get to the detail right away, but can't. So, this is something that I have to learn to master. I don't want to become too loose in my technique, but I need to go in this direction if I want to continue and grow as an oil painter.

Alla Prima by Michael LeKites
I've been wanting to do some some wet on wet painting. Haven't done many since my college days. Saw a step by step painting on Wet Canvas of a pear and was inspired. Just focusing on the technique. I think I worked a little too fast and too wet. About 2 hours worth of work. I'm satisfied with it right now though, for being my first one. I plan on doing more of these as often as I can. Oil on canvas board, 8x11.

I like the smooth and simple look of this style, very expressive without being at all complicated. Very, very nice!
I really like what you have done here, Michael, and look forward to seeing more!
