DPP CHALLENGE
I had been looking forward to our Alaskan cruise for a long time. We took a "first timer" trip and stayed mostly near the coastline, but we did see everything I had wanted to see. The weather, however, was overcast much of the time and cooler than I had expected. The mountains, icebergs, waterfalls , forests and fiords were awesome, but in the dour lighting, they often appeared foreboding to me. Tiny towns clinging to the coast with huge mountains hoovering over them--the only way out by boat or plane--few roads --yikes-- take me back to civilization.

A moody, austere painting in its beauty, Celelia. It really seems to capture the enormity of the landscape.
Thank you Dianne.
Beautiful painting. Very strong composition. Sharon
yes.nice. love the slight touch of red in the sky. i can almost feel the water. Diane is right on, austere.
Very beautiful! I agree with all of the above! You can feel the cold!
Brrrr...this really conveys the sense of cold, very cold temperatures. This is beautiful - the palette working so wonderfully. Fantastic work, Cecelia.
Sort of different for yours other, Cecilia... Very limited colors and still - you totally made it work! I'm agree with Claire - it is cold to even look at this one! Nice.
Beautiful, peaceful painting. I love it - one of those paintings you can just look into forever!
Great work Cecelia.
Well, I agree with everyone that this is a super painting Cecelia. The reflections are so wonderful - I feel as if I could skate across that water.
