Sketches at the Zoo, Maria Kovalenko Leysens

We went to the zoo on Friday. Both of our sons are into art/animation and we all took sketchbooks.  I started with pen and ink on a moleskin watercolor book and did the watercolor washes at home. Next time I will do the watercolor washes on site and draw bigger.  It was fun. Stop by my blog to see links to my sons sketches from the day. (Just a little proud)

Maria, your sons are off to a good start with the help of their talented mother. You can't help being proud.

These are lovely, Maria. A friend and I went to the Pittsburgh zoo some years ago and did the same thing. After seeing your post I find I need to go back and look at the sketches I made during that visit!
