"Regarding Monet" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
6"x6"

I love the contrast between the delicacy and subtlety of this Claude Monet painting with the bold presence of this large man in his bright red sweatshirt. I also love capturing people at moments when they are stopped in their tracks by something wonderful.
I've been busy with my new part time job and with teaching a drawing class, so lately it's been difficult to paint as much as I'd like.

I was just at the Phila Museum a few weeks ago and I was also captivated by this very Monet painting. I love the light you capture in all your paintings.

This is so familiar. You can just feel the strength of this guy as he ponders the painting. Love the design.
