This past week I had the opportunity to go plein air painting with a longtime and dear artist/friend -- and former co-worker -- Linda Faulkner, in Ohio. Linda and I have been working towards this goal of painting together for a while now, and she suggested we go to Wingfoot State Park, a few miles north of where I live in Ohio in the winter. I was experimenting with using Neocolor II watersoluble crayons, and Linda was working in acrylic. Unfortunately it was a tad chilly that day, but beautiful!

Wingfoot State Park was formerly owned by Goodyear as a private park for use by their employees and guests. It's located very near the blimp hangar, and as luck would have it, we were painting at the very time that a group called Dude Perfect was attempting to complete a successful basket by dropping basketballs from the blimp to the basketball hoop below. According to the national news, they got the shot on their 100th try. (If you enlarge the photo below you might be able to see them dropping a basketball from the blimp.) But we can tell you that it took them most of the day to do it!

Your painting is so full of sunshine, Amy! I love the shadows that fall across the foreground. Looks like you had a great time!
Getting together with friends to paint is always a fun time. So nice that you and Linda had this opportunity.
Your painting says "spring". Those are some hard colors to paint. Great job.
