"In the Impressionist Wing" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
6"x6"

This lady is enjoying some Impressionist paintings while making quite a visual splash herself. I like the yellow/blue/white/black color combination, as well as the balanced composition.

This past week I spent a few days on a painting that turned rotten on me, which is always discouraging. It's such a relief to turn a new page, and I'm happy enough with this. As usual my photo doesn't quite capture it, but comes pretty close.

I love the gesture of this woman and her bag feels like it has some weight to it. As usual, your work is amazing!

I am always so amazed at your brushwork, Taryn. It seems so effortless, yet I know that you have put much thought into each beautiful stroke. I love this.

The pose is real. The purse looks loaded with stuff. The hairstyle--chic, the white cuffs and collar sticking out against the yellow sweater-fashionable--so contempory and so well painted.

Thanks Claire, Julie and Cecelia. Cecelia, yes she sure is stylish- something I've never been able to master.

Typical woman, carrying way too much stuff in that bag. Sorry ladies. Another great painting Taryn.

I hate it when things turn rotten! This is beautifully done - so you've come out of it nicely!

I spelled contemporary--how annoying--my spelling skills are decreasing as my age increases--bummer.
