'An Early Spring'
Oil on linen panel
11 x 14
Today was one of those days that was just an incredible gift.
I was able to go right out into the orchard with a good friend
and fellow artist to paint the early peach blossoms plein air.
There was a threat of fog, but it had burned off by
9:00 AM leaving sun and blue sky and warm temperatures.
My face hurts from smiling so much...and the memory
of this fantastic day will stay with me a very long time!
My thanks to the very special people who let us come
paint on their property.

Claire, this is lovely. The pink looks like it was so fun to paint. I was working on a painting this past week with the exact same title! I ruined it, but have yours to enjoy.
Looks like you had a sunnier day here. Good that you captured the peach blossoms when you did. I don't think they will last too long.
Thanks, Taryn - it was a lot of fun to paint!
Julie - I thought we were going to have another day of fog, but it lifted in the morning, leaving a beautiful day behind. Got lots of pictures, but there is nothing that will replace being there painting on site!
Nice composition and color and it really says spring. Sharon
Beautiful peach blossums; they must have been a joy to experience them in the scene as you painted it all.
As if it wasn't wonderful enough to just paint there - the owner contacted me and is going to purchase the painting as a surprise for her husband's birthday in May. Hope it is dry by then!!!!
