Winter Reflections by Julie Riker

6x12

This was painted a few weeks ago (just after our last snowfall) at West Fairview where I met to paint with some friends.  It started out being a sunny day, but by time we set up the skies became overcast and there was a strange pink glow on the horizon.  I saw it as a good opportunity to work on finding and emphasizing color in those dull muted tones.

Yeah. Sometimes less color means more harmony and a quiet painting, like this.

Julie, the depth is terrific. Nice dimension for this peaceful piece.

It's hard to get a beautiful painting this time of year, but you managed it. Great painting, Julie.

I love the soft, subtlety of this painting, Julie. Just like a Winter's day.
