PURPLE SUNRISE By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic/canvas

16x20

This is one of only 2 glorious sunrises in FLA this January and February. During the last two winter stays here on the Atlantic Coast, I saw one amazing sunrise after the other. I thought they were a given, but this year only two. The early mornings have been very overcast. So happily I had my camera ready on those two mornings and took many photos as the sky, clouds and colors rapidily changed. We have two more weeks left to our stay here in Fort Pierce. I'll keep my camera ready.

I did not see a sunrise this beautiful during my 5 days in Orlando last week but I was so busy and did not have time to look. I got some great animal shots in Disney world.

Cecelia, this is lovely and your persistence with the painting paid off. Beautiful color and it is interesting how the clouds mimic the shape of the palm tree.

Certainly looks like you had a very creative time in Florida! Good for you. This is a lovely painting - there's something about the colors of the sky that remind me of a vintage post card.
