"Taking Pictures" by Taryn Day

oil on panel
6"x6"

This young woman was taking photographs of the sweeping view of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway as seen from the Philadelphia Art Museum. I like to imagine her "looking" as a metaphor for the start of the new year, when we like to look at the year we leave behind, as well as to focus on the one coming up.

What a neat idea! We are always looking forward to something aren't we? Another very interesting post in this series. I'm amazed at the information you get on a 6 x 6 panel. I always imagine these are at least 12 x 12.

I agree with Ron - I am always surprised at the small size of your work, and the impact you are able to convey. I saw this up on the Daily Paint Works site - and it is really magnificent.

This is another great piece Taryn. I have really enjoyed watching as you add each piece to this series. Beautiful Job!
