PALMS NEAR THE MARINA By Cecelia Lyden

acrylic/canvas

11x14

I pass by this marina every day and had plans to paint it. After visiting the site many times, however, I concluded that the scene was just a mess, with a conglomeration of crisscrossing lines and other verticals. It did not inspire me. But the push and pull positions of this group of palms, did interest me. Mother Nature certainly provides us with unique and beautiful subject matter.

I love this! It makes me want to walk down that space between the trees toward the water. Your trees all have personality and I love how the two center trees look as if they are dancing with each other.

Funny you should mention that--I was seriously going to title this,"May I Cut In?"

I love the way you handled the Palm trees. They are sturdy and strong but very graceful and flowing. Wonderful!
